Toledo - It did not take Sylvana Southview too much time to get grasp of the score column - junior MacKenzie Syring made one count early in the match to take 1-0 lead, but with the finishing touches of junior Karlie O'Keefe the Kats took a 2-1 lead into half after O'Keefe broke through the stout Southview defense. Northview, who is coming off a quality win over Pickerington North Saturday had to deal with immense pressure from the young Cougars - but Northview showed their youth could stand up to the challenge from their fiercest rivals. Freshmen Madison Keller and Mackenzie Johns tallied second half goals to give the Lady Kats the proper breathing room. Southview's Dani Peterson and Northview's Katherine Duwve registered some quality saves in the tilt and some half chances created from Southview sophomores Charley Kale and Lauren Micham were not enough to knock off the Kats. Northview (8-3-1) continues their winning ways - setting up a battle for at least a share of the NLL title with perennial power Perrysburg and closing out against NE Ohio power North Royalton - Southview falls to 3-9-0 on the season.
